FTDR is a series on the Abelian Foundation’s Medium blog meaning“From the Devs’ Room”. This blog post will provide insights on the updates and progress that has been made in the past week, the decisions made regarding technological advancements and upcoming changes, or events to look forward to.
These are the notes from the tech team from the fourth week of January.

How to Install the Abelian Full Node (and other Node types)
The Abelian full node, abec, has the stabilized version set at v0.12.5. Only in this mode, you will be able to get the full copy of the entire ledger as well as all the witnesses and historical off-ledger data since the Genesis block from April 2022. Installing the full node will also help the Abelian Network become more robust and decentralized.
We welcome everybody to run a full node with the parameter below.
" - nodetype=fullnode"
As of this writing, the Abelian full node requires 482GB of storage.
If the disk capacity is a challenge, we also welcome everybody to run a semi-full node. It still synchronises the entire ledger but instead of synchronising all the witnesses and historical off-ledger data, it keeps the most recent few thousand blocks of off-ledger data.
Run a semi-full node with the parameter below.
" - nodetype=semifullnode"
Compared with a full node type, the Abelian semi-full node reduces the disk storage requirement to 304GB.
If you just want to run a node which has the entire ledger and only the most recent one thousand blocks of off-ledger data, please run abec with the parameter below.
" - nodetype=normalnode"
Abec (normal node type) takes less than 100GB of storage.
Please install the newest Abelian Mobile Wallet
The new version 1.0.2 Abelian Mobile Wallet is the most updated and stabilized one. Please go to Apple Store and Google Play Store respectivley for getting the latest version updated for iOS and Android apps.

Updates & Upgrades
The re-deployment of the Foundation’s GPU mining pool servers has been completed and stabilized. Alicia is in Istanbul serving European miners, Baker in Singapore for Asian miners, Charlie and Dior in the States for miners from America and the rest of the world.

Upcoming Changes
Mobile Wallet Upgrade
The tech team is working on a new mobile wallet version which supports biometric authentication and more detailed transactional information. The interface is also having a nice touch.
Here’s a sneak peek, although the finalized version may come out a little differently. 👇
New Mining Pool System
On the second week of January, the Abelian Foundation FTDR reported that a new mining system will have a lower payout threshold and load balancer which automatically routes miners to balance the network so to maximize the support to more miners.
This week, the devs’ room revealed further details on the benefits of new mining pool. Its system will automatically arrange mining rigs to connect to the closest mining servers, and all mining servers will be unified so that no matter which servers the mining rigs are connected to, rewards mined will be consolidated and payouts will be arranged more regularly to miners.
Abelian is building the foundation of a Post-Quantum world
Abelian is a Layer 1 blockchain engineered to withstand quantum threats. NIST, National Institute of Standards and Technology, has already approved multiple lattice-based cryptographic algorithms for quantum-resistant encryption and digital signature. With lattice-based cryptography, multi-tier privacy, and robust decentralization, Abelian ensures your digital assets to remain secure, private, and future-proof.
Join the race to quantum resistance
Abelian powers the next-generation Layer 1 blockchain, designed to protect your transactions, assets, and data against adversarial quantum attacks.
